Boring? Bliss!

erratic_prophet | 21 January, 2006 09:22

I haven't written much lately because there really hasn't been much to write about. Things have been quiet. That's a good thing. I like quiet. I like boredom. I want to be so bored that my eyes continually roll back into my head. Ok, maybe not that bored..

Not that there haven't been any problems. There've been a few fights and snits and all, but everything else has been pretty darn good that it outweighs the bad. Sounds like it's....list time!

The Good:

  1. Got my department transfer coming up in a few weeks or so.
  2. Should be getting a free watch in the mail (for selling a set number of watches from the company in the store).
  3. Should also be getting some money from another watch company (again, for selling their watch).
  4. This is the first time in a long while that I haven't felt panicked about money.
  5. The weather has been relatively mild lately.
  6. I lost the holiday weight. Finally.
  7. I've had more time off from work.
  8. Had store manager take my side in a fight at work.

The Bad:

  1. Got into a fight with a manager at work because she wouldn't do her job.
  2. Getting pulled into another fight between the 'rents. I told them to leave me out and fight their own battles, thankyouverymuch!
  3. They've cut back hours at work. Budget time for both of us!
  4. My manager has kinda sorta been avoiding me. I think it's because of the transfer.
  5. Friends at work are unhappy with me leaving the department. One asked why I didn't ask the manager for the extra dollar per hour and I had to explain that she could only get me a $.40 raise...in May...maybe.
  6. I still feel pudgy despite losing the holiday weight.
  7. Not only have the cramps from my endometriosis been plaguing me-- when they shouldn't-- but I've had persistent migraines from the birth control shot they gave me to stop my period-- which wasn't stopped-- and my migraine medication isn't cutting it anymore. That's right, doctor time. Again.

The Ugly:

  1. iTunes has developed a massive crush on The Shins and is determined to play them-- particularly one song, "Mine's Not a High Horse"-- at every friggin opportunity. 10 times in one hour-- just that one song!!-- is a bit extreme.
  2. I can't get "Mine's Not a High Horse" out of my head.
